Adephagia (Ancient Greek:a-dih-FAY-jee-uh) was the Greek personification of gluttony. She had a temple in Sicily, and the presence there of a statue of Demeter Sitos, Goddess of corn, implies that she was regarded as a Goddess of bountiful harvests rather than of excessive eating. Adephagia’s name means “gluttony.”
