The Amazon warrior Aella

Aella (Greek: Ἄελλα) was one of Hippolyte's Amazons in Greek mythology. She was one of Hippoyta's best warrior. When Herakles came to obtain Hippolyte's Girdle, Aella was the first to attack Herakles. Unfortunately for Aella, Herakles was wearing the Nemean Lion skin, making him invulnerable. Aella could not kill Herakles; thus, she was killed instead.

Logically, Aella must have been strong, for she was one of the small group set aside to fight Herakles. It was a long and close battle, but eventually, Herakles defeated her.
