Erymanthischer Boar

Heracles brings the Ermanthian Boar to King Eurystheus

The Erymanthios Hus (Erymanthian Boar) was a giant fear-inspiring creature of the wilds that lived on Mount Erymanthos.

One of the Labours of Heracles was to capture the beast. He chased the boar through the snow of Mount Erymanthos, but he finally captured it and brought it back to Eurystheus. When Eurystheus saw the boar, he was so frightened that he hid in a buried pithos jar.

Unknown, but possibly related to the Calydonian Boar.
