Leo is the constellation of Heracles' first labor, the Nemean Lion. The Nemean Lion was a lion that had a hide that deflected any weapon. Heracles killed it by wrestling it to the death. After it was killed Heracles skinned the lion and wore the skin as a cloak. It was later placed into the sky as a constellation.
