Skamandros was a son of Okeanos & Tethys. He ruled over the largest river in Troy. Skamandros was the river-god of the Troad in north-western Anatolia (modern Turkey). Skamandros' river had its headwaters at the foot of Mount Ida. Its mouth was close to the entrance to the Hellespont. Tributaries that flow into Skamandros' river include Kebren, Simoeis and Heptaporos. The Rhodios and Satnoeis are the closest large rivers near Skamandros.
