Speio or Spio is the Nereid of the sea "caves." With the exception of Pausanias all of the Greek Poets (Hesiod, Homer, Apollodorus & Hyginus) and even the Roman Poet Virgil list Speio among the ranks of the Haliad Nymphs known as the Nereides .
